Bobby Clams Entertainment presents:
A walking tour of Manayunk’s 3 finest (and only) Bar-B-Q proprietors. Join us for good food, and good times in Manayunk, Philadelphia, on Saturday, August 15th, 2009.
We begin our adventure around 1pm, diving into Tommy Gunn’s delicious slow-cooked meats, and homemade sides.
We’ll depart Tommy Gunn’s and walk up Main Street, stopping at Pretzel Park, to enjoy the scenery, and possibly some athletics (feel free to bring frisbees, wiffle ball bats, or whatever else you like).
Heading further up Main Street we’ll make our way past the future location of Rubb, Main Street’s only BBQ joint (coming this fall), and on towards Phoebe’s Bar-B-Q, on Umbria Street, for our second meal of the day. I recommend the ribs!
After late-lunch at Phoebe’s, we head up the hill... and it is one hell of a hill, to Gorgas Park, where we can just sit and catch our breath, because you will need it when you see:
Holy Smoke, the pride of Roxborough’s Southern Cuisine scene, on Ridge Ave, where we’ll enjoy our third and final course of the day, and some of the finest brews and blues in Philadelphia.
I hope this all sounds as exciting to you guys as it does to me! We’re going to be pretty flexible with time, but look at arriving in Manayunk by about 1pm, and to be done eating by around 10.
